Life is a self fulfilling prophecyOne thing that I have learnt over many years of experience is that "Life is a self fulfilling prophecy". Most people achive in life what they set their mind to - ie most people drift along and wait for something to happen and end up where they end up with no purpose or goals or aims in life other than to exist by doing what is easy. Again most people spend far more time each week planning the grocery list or what is for dinner or what to watch on TV - and yet completely fail to plan on their own development and future goals and directions for their family or there business. Most men take far greater time and effort and planning to purchase and maintain a car than they do on planning where they want to be in five or ten years. Also, most women take far greater time to plan the day-to-day running of the house than they do on planning where they or the family want to be in five to ten years time. Similarly most people in business spend far too much time on working "in the business" rather than "on the business" - ie they devote their time and energy into making the business run on a daily basis (myopic short term) rather than being objective and focussing on the planning and direction and future of the business. This is why so many businesses are operationally focussed on a "product and production orientation" to enable the owner to buy enough food etc to live a basic existance, and yet fail to grow and become what they could be by being "customer focussed and management orientated". Failure to plan is planning to fail. Think what you want to be and empower your mind lead you there because "Life is a self fulfilling prophecy". Ken Mitchell |
